The Chief of Security at an embroiled Muskogee County prison is on administrative leave with pay after an anonymous correctional officer asked a state lawmaker for an investigation.

Changes are coming to the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester to hopefully prevent more prisoners from walking away.

Nearly 3 dozen inmates in Tulsa are starting with a clean slate. Thirty-five women graduated Monday from the Oklahoma Department of Correction's Muddy Paws program.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections confirmed that an inmate at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center died Thursday morning, June 21.  

Oklahoma prison officials say an inmate on the state's death row has apparently taken his own life. Oklahoma Department of Corrections spokesman Matt Elliott says 35-year-old Jeremy Williams of Tulsa was found dead in his cell at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. 

A spokesman for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections prisoner probation office say Robert Bates who served time in prison for fatally shooting an unarmed black man could face punishment if the agency determines he broke the rules when he was recently seen at a bar.

A federal appeals court has revived an Oklahoma prison inmate's lawsuit alleging conditions at a state prison violated his constitutional rights. 

Over 100 inmates at Oklahoma State Penitentiary are without hot water and will remain that way until Monday. The Department of Corrections says a 30-year-old boiler quit working Wednesday, causing the outage.
